Ricky Matute is a Latin GRAMMY-Award winning percussionist and composer from Barranquilla, Colombia. He Graduated Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor's degree in Film Scoring and Contemporary Writing & Production with a minor in Video Game Scoring after receiving a full tuition scholarship from the college and being the recipient of the 100.000USD Gifted Scholarship given by the Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation.
Ricky has extensive experience as a percussionist in different genres and has played in venues and events around Latin America and the United States such as Latin Grammys’ Person of the Year Gala 2019 (Las Vegas, NV), Lincoln Center (NY),Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts (Washington, DC) and Barranquijazz Festival(Colombia). In addition to this, he was invited as an artist to the Cordoba Drum Camp (Córdoba, Argentina) to teach a master class about Colombian percussion instruments and rhythms.
